Sally's son, Dr. Robert Curry, had two executors with the name of Young: James, Sr. (her brother) and Andrew Young. They are likely relatives, probably Sally's brothers or nephews. (CL-185) She and her husband could have been the first in this family to emmigrate in about the year 1737. Her Young relatives probably followed them over shortly thereafter.

I suspect she was married to a King or a Stiffey as these are names that her brother John mentioned in his will when he died without issue and he named some of his brothers and his sister's children. According to Jebavy, she or her sisters, Margaret or Isabel married a Burgess.

Thomas R. YOUNG, M.D., is a native of Jessamine County, Ky., was born
January 8, 1833, and is a son of Archibald and Martha (YOUNG) YOUNG, who
were born in Woodford County, and were descendants of English ancestors, who
settled in Virginia in the Colonial days. The Doctor's maternal grandfather
was John YOUNG, who enlisted in the Revolutionary war from South Carolina.
Archibald YOUNG was a farmer and physician, and for forty-eight years
practiced medicine in Jessamine County. Thomas R. YOUNG entered Centre
College, Danville, in 1851, and graduated in 1855; read medicine under his
father, and entered Jefferson College, Philadelphia, in 1857. He graduated
from this institution in 1859, and at once began practice in Jessamine
County, but in 1868 removed to Ashland, Boyd County. During the interval,
however, he served in the United State army as assistant surgeon under
contract. December 13, 1876, he married Miss Sallie Bagby, daughter of
Alexander Bagby, a lawyer of Ashland. To this union have been born five
children, as follows: Thomas R., Archibald, William C., Orra Walter
(deceased), and Jessie Wallace. The Doctor is a member of the Presbyterian
Church, and is still actively engaged in the practice of his profession.

390 settled Montgomery Co., KY, m. Ann Trimble. It is believed that William owned land on Reedy Creek in what would become Sullivan Co., TN, but at the time was NC. It is unquestionable that William's brother John owned land on Reedy Creek and a William Young also owned 200 acres there. William migrated to Montgomery Co., KY after 1790. This William had a son Thomas R. Young who settled in IN.

392 William Young b. County Antrim and migrated to America at an early but unknown date, settled in Augusta Co., VA, later migrating to KY before 1777, when KY was still dangerous Indian territory and everyone lived in a fort or station, dying in 1818 in KY and was reportedly married three times. Only the first name of his third wife, Mary, is known at this time. William was a Revolutionary War soldier who may have served only in the forts/stations of the KY frontier. He is listed as a member of Capt. Boyle's Company, out of Logan's Fort, and stationed at forts along Dick's River in Lincoln Co. A Col. Young is later identified in a Draper interview with Mrs. Arnold as being at Craig's Station. In the Fall of 1783, all the inhabitants of Craig's Station went to Gilbert's Creek Station, including the William Young family. All remained at Gilbert's Creek Station except Capt. John Craig. William claimed two 400 acre land grants on Gilbert's Creek, one was denied, probably having had a valid claim by someone else. To get the grant he received, he had to have been in KY after January 1778 and before October 1779. There is a Chalkley court reference dated 1779, listing, among many others, both William Young and William Hughes, who would become William Young's son Thomas' father-in-law, as delinquent on their taxes because they have "gone to Kentucky." This delinquent tax list was for 1777 or 1778, making their trip to KY fall into the time frame in which son Thomas was born. He was probably born shortly after their arrival in KY, most likely at Logan's Fort.

The following record in Chalkley might apply to this William since one of William's sisters married a Henderson. Page 107.--21st November, 1772. David Henderson, son of Danl. Henderson, puts himself apprentice to William Young, blacksmith, to learn his art, trade or mystery for 4-1/2 years. Teste: Wm. Robertson, Wm. Anderson.

He was married 3 times. His last wife's name was Mary according to Sharon Jebavy. A Chalkley record dated 1779 that said both William Young and William Hughes (his father-in-law) were delinquent in their tithables because they had "...gone to KY." He moved to Lincoln Co., KY by 1777 where he lived the rest of his life. This part of Lincoln Co., KY later became Garrard Co., KY. William Young was at Logan's Fort. He was with Capt. Boyle's Company that was dispatched to forts along Dick's River in Lincoln Co., KY. Col. Young had also been at Craig's Station. In the Fall of 1783, everyone from Craig's Station left there and went to the Gilbert's Creek Station, including the William Young family. Almost everyone stayed at Gilbert's Creek. William got land grants in Lincoln Co., KY in 1783 that required him and verified that he had been in Kentucky from Jan. 1778 to Oct. 1779.

The following records from Chalkley might apply to him, but there appear to be several Williams in Augusta Co., VA.

1st It is my desire that my Executor herein after named shall as soon after my dealth as seems best to him sell all of my estate both real and personal on such terms as he may think best, hereby conferring on him full power and authority to convey the real estate, and the proceeds of my estate distributed in the following manner. I give to my brother Andrew Young one hundred dollars to be first paid out of my estate after my debts and funeral expenses, my reason for giving my brother so small a legacy is that he like myself has no children and his situation and circumstances do not require it.

I give to my brother Robert one thousand dollars to be paid next to my brother Andrew’s legacy.

I give to the children of my deceased Sister Mary Kich Five hundred dollars to be equally divided between them giving to grand child or grand children the portion that would fall to the parent if living.

I give to the children of my deceased Sister Margaret Young, who married Wm. A. Young Twelve hundred dollars to be equally divided between them.

I give to the children of my deceased brother Elisha Young Two thousand dollars to be equally divided between, I give to the children of my deceased Sister Jane Cunningham Two thousand dollars to be equally divided between them, to grand child or grand children living at my death the portion that would go to the parents if living.

I give to my Executor herinafter named one hundred dollars to be by him paid to the trustees of Tinkling Spring congregation and by them loaned out at interest. Ten dollars to be by them collected at the end of each year for the support of the pastor of said congregation until the whole is exhausted I give to my nephew David S. Young of Staunton three hundred dollars to be used by him according to his discretion in the education of such of his children as remain uneducated at my death.

If my estate shall not prove sufficient to pay all of the foregoing legacies they must be paid salably except the Legacies given to my brothers Andrew and Robert.

If there should be a surplus over and above the payment of the foregoing legacies I direct it to be paid to the children of my deceased sister Margaret Young to the extent of Five hundred dollars, the residue over and above that to be paid to each of foregoing legatees saleably.

I give to my Executor my Books to be by him distributed among my relations giving my family bible to my nephew John E. Young son of Wm. Young the life of Christ, to my neice Agnes B. Young to her also my silver spoons. I desire my Executor to place over my grave a suitable monument or head and foot stones as may seem to him suitable.
